Yes – you don’t need an ID document to use some Yoti features.
While Yoti uses government issued ID documents to verify specific personal details – like name, date of birth and gender – there are still ways someone can use Yoti without owning an ID document. For example, you can use Yoti to stop someone from registering for a service or voting in a poll multiple times. It can also be used for collecting food rations or recording that someone has attended a scheduled meeting or appointment.
Our upcoming Yoti Key product will let NGOs manually enter a person’s details to create a secure digital identity for them. The details added aren’t verified by Yoti but even without Yoti verified details we can give a person a way of identifying themselves.
