If you’re communicating with someone online, you will need to know the other person's email address, mobile number or other contact details (for example, WhatsApp or Facebook). If the other person doesn’t have Yoti, they will be prompted to download the app and set up their account.
Here’s how you share your details remotely.
- Open the Yoti app, tap the 'Share' button at the top of the My Yoti page. You will see a list of the details you are swapping (photo and mobile number if you didn’t add an ID document, or photo, full name and date of birth, among other information, if you added an ID document. Companies will also be able to ask you for a photo of your ID Document.)
- Choose how you want to send the share request. This could be by text, email, WhatsApp, Facebook and so on.
- Enter the other person's contact number or email, tailor the message that goes with the request, and press Send.
- Once sent, the other person will receive the message and can either accept or decline the share request. If accepted, you will see the receipt in your ‘Activity’ tab. Unaccepted requests expire after 72 hours.
Remember: with ‘Swap details’ you will receive the same details that you share.
